MMMmmmmmMMMMmmmmm..... Beef. It's what's for dinner. When we go out.

Me, personally, I'm a little bit afraid of beef. All except ground hamburger. I can cook hamburger perfectly well-done and charred fine. But when we go out, I love to get steaks and burgers.

So you can imagine my absolute delight when Red Robin contacted me about trying their brand new burger. Here's what Red Robin has to say about it:

Beginning Aug. 3, our guests will have the opportunity to taste Red Robin’s newest gourmet burger recipe while also supporting an important cause.

From Tuesday, Aug. 3 to Sunday, Sept. 12, Red Robin will feature 10-year-old Emma Potts’ Spicy Honey Glazed Bacon Burger in all U.S. Red Robin® restaurants. Emma is the grand-prize winner of our fourth annual Kids’ Cook-Off, and fifty cents of each Spicy Honey Glazed Bacon Burger sold will be donated to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC). Since 2006, Red Robin has donated more than $310,000 to NCMEC through its Kids’ Cook-Off and other programs.

Okay, so, have a date night with Texan Papa; check. Eat a delicious hamburger; check. Donate money to a worthy charity; check.

We visited the Red Robin in Arlington, Texas. Upon arriving, the hostess went to get the manager. (Okay, here comes the part where my head starts getting bigger...) When Chris, the manager, comes over to meet me, he is really excited and tells me that it's not often they have a LOCAL CELEBRITY dining with them.

Hold up. WHAT DID HE SAY???? Yeah, I know I'm not really a celebrity, but it's been a while since anyone's called me anything other than "mom" or "sweetcakes" so I'll take what I can get.

We got seated and Chris brought us our Spicy Honey Glazed Bacon Burgers, with bottomless fries and bottomless drinks. (I had the diet Coke, being the hardcore fan that I am, and Texan Papa had the bottomless Root Beer Float.)

I would definitely recommend the Spicy Honey Glazed Bacon Burger. Even though it's a mouthful to say, it really is a delicious burger. Just a twinge of spicy, but sweet too. Not too fancy with a ton of frills, either. Just simply yummy.

HERE'S MY BIG FAT DISCLOSURE: The Red Robin peeps comped my meal, along with Texan Papa's, and were glad to have us back again by giving us a $25 gift card. We happily obliged the very next night, while we were in San Antonio. Equally good service there too. Equally yummy food.

Wow! You're famous, but you're still talking to the little people. Aw, thanks.

So glad you had a fun night (two, I guess).

Well check you out Ms. Celebrity. :)

I think Red Robin is a great place to take kids. We don't have one locally, but they have a few in Houston.

I KNEW you were joining the big leagues now! ;)

We LOVE us some Red Robin. Unfortunately, we don't have one near us, but we eat at the one in Garland every chance we get.

I LOVE Red Robin! I will have to try that burger... I haven't been in awhile. When I was pregnant with #2, I craved their bacon burger with the guacamole on it... and ate it AT LEAST once a week! Yowzers... it's a wonder I didn't weigh 250 pounds by the end of my pregnancy!

Me and Crazy Texas Mommy did the Red Robin thing too. We had a blast and you're right, the burger was great! Amazing that a little girl created it!

I'm both sad and happy we don't have Red Robin in my neck of the woods. Sad because they are oh so yummy and a perfect place to bring kids. Happy because really, my butt can't afford to get any bigger and Red Robin's menu doesn't exactly scream "healthy!".

Mmmm! Sounds good! Celebrity, huh? I imagince it was a little like the time I was a reporter for a local daily paper and I was invited to be the "celebrity" judge for a beauty pageant. Flattering, fun and pathetic all at the same time...
