Will Take Pictures For Food

Or money. Or favors. Or pretty shoes.

If you haven't entered my Giveaway for a Picnik Premium one-year Membership, GO. DO. IT. NOW!!!

And, I want to share with you my latest insane idea: I am going to be a "casual photographer". You can even check out my Texan Mama Photography blog. Now, don't go stealing my idea. The concept is this: I'm like your hired friend with a decent camera. I take snapshots at your event (birthday party, dance recital, girls night out, family reunion, etc.) so you can enjoy yourself but still have the day preserved in photos. My pictures will not be the caliber of a professional photographer - because I'm NOT a professional photographer - but neither will my prices. Editing will be on a per-photo basis. What do you think of this? Any opinions would be really appreciated.

Now, here's my Weekly Winners, dudes!

Cool idea for the 'casual photographer for hire.' I like it.

If you present photos like this to your clients, you'll be very busy and popular.

I'm completely into the whole photojournalistic style myself. Most people don't get it though; people think they should pose. I like the natural unposed photos. Great job!

Great idea. I hate taking pictures, but am always happy someone else has.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your great idea! I have never taken a decent pic in my life, so having a good, casual photog around would be wonderful.

I had the SAME IDEA about a year ago! I thought about offering my services to bachlorette parties, etc. So no one had to carry a camera, but they also didn't have to worry about missing the night. I even thought I'd offer to just hand over the memory card out of the camera at the end of the night. (They'd pay for the card, of course.) GO FOR IT! And let me know how it goes!!!

That's an interesting idea. There are a few people around here that do that, or something similar. I hope it works out because it sounds like fun.

I think that's a neat idea. I often feel like I "miss" events because I'm too busy capturing them on film...err..memory card. But, if I don't take the pics and "live in the moment" I feel like I miss something too. I love the idea of someone taking pictures for me but not worrying about affording them!
